Meet Melanie Wilson
Taking tragic circumstances and turning them into a passion-fueled career has placed our podcast guest Melanie Wilson in our hot seat this month. Nominated by one of her staff members in awe of her leadership style and her ability to overcome personal experiences, Melanie welcomed the opportunity to share her beautiful story of resilience.
Starting her career path doing what she thought was expected of her and “the right way” to get a good job and make a living, she found herself unfulfilled. Then, a series of truly tragic events saw Melanie re-evaluate her life and how she wanted to spend her time and energy.
Melanie has since held executive roles across a range of national public, private and not for profit sectors with career highlights including leading RSL Queensland through a period of transformation, making positive changes to the Australian Surf Life Saving Foundation, and Australian Red Cross Blood Service.
Now Melanie is CEO of Suncare Community Services leading a team of over 800 people with purpose, a strong sense of ‘why’ and an open, honest approach to encouraging her team and achieving her goals of making a difference in the lives of her community.
Listen in as we find out how she does it!
